TITLE OF THE BILINGUAL VOLUME
L'ARCA DI SANT'AGOSTINO. LA TECNOLOGIA DIGITALE PER UNA FRUIZIONE INNOVATIVA DELL'ARTE CON IL COINVOLGIMENTO DEGLI STUDENTI
THE ARK OF ST. AUGUSTINE. STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR INNOVATIVE INTERPRETATIONS OF ART

DESCRIPTION
This volume, printed on the occasion of the 13th centenary of the transferal of the body of St. Augustine from Cagliari to Pavia, to the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel D'Oro, illustrates the projects of the students of the Computer Vision course over three academic years, starting from 2017/18. The goal was to create a 3D virtual model of the Ark, the funeral monument containing the saint's body and promote new types of artwork that provide views that the current location of the sculpture does not allow. More than a hundred students worked on this project, evidence of the positive impact of the initial stages. The proactive involvement of students has created an effective and very determined workforce that has led to results which, quite apart from their strong impact on the local community in Pavia, have had international resonance. Hence, besides bearing witness to the interactions between the world of Education and the local community, the volume will also be of interest to all those seeking easier access to the Ark and information about the characters that it contains.
